ABOUT THE SCHOOL

Castle Camps CE (VC) Primary School is a rural school set in attractive surroundings in South Cambridgeshire. We are the furthest southeast school in the Ely Diocese, as well as in Cambridgeshire. The catchment area is the villages of Castle Camps, Camps End, Shudy Camps, Cardinal’s Green and Horseheath. However we have many pupils from outside the catchment area, in particular from the Haverhill area.
The OFSTED Inspection of March 2006 stated that “Castle Camps CE (VC) Primary School is a good, effective and caring school. Teaching and learning are good and the leadership and management are good.” Overall the school received a Grade 2 – indicating that the school is generally above average.
The National Society Statutory Inspection of Anglican School’s Report in May 2006 recognised that, “The school ethos is good reflecting its distinctive Christian ethos in meeting the needs of all learners.” “A warm welcome is extended to all” and “relationships within the school are good and are characterised by Christian care and consideration for others.” “Pupils benefit from the strong sense of community identity, learning with a caring Christian environment with opportunities for a rich and broad education.”
