NEWSLETTER
22nd November 2007
Dear Parents,
We seem to have a lot of illness around at present, let’s hope that it’s short-lived and we will all be fit for the run-up to Christmas.
Charitable Donations
Thank you for your generous responses to the Christmas Shoe Box, Poppy and Children in Need Appeals.
A representative of The Samaritan’s Purse collected 50 shoe boxes, which will be sent to underprivileged children.
We have £155.05 to pay in for the Children in Need Appeal and Mrs Haylock informs me that £24.65 was donated to the Poppy Appeal.
Penalty Shoot Out
Please send sponsorship money in as soon as possible so that details of the prizes required can be notified to Mr Simpson in time for next week’s Assembly.
Festive Fayre
As part of supporting the Friends of the School, the children will be running 4 stalls selling items that they have made. These will be organised by the House Captains and we would like to ask your help. If you have any spare Christmas wrapping or decorations, candles, small toys or gifts please can we have them. We also intend to make things, so how about sending in those unwanted Christmas cards, stickers, ribbons, bows, etc. for recycling! If you prefer to bake, we would gratefully receive anything Christmas related for sale.
We are devoting Thursday afternoon (29th November) to this venture and if you would like to help please let the School Office know your availability.
School Photographs
These were distributed earlier this week. Please ensure that either payment or returns are sent in to School by 4th December 2007 in time for collection by the Photographers.
Reception Admissions, September 2008 (Children born between 01.09.03 & 31.08.04)
Just a reminder that the closing date for applications is Friday, 7th December 2007.
Christmas Productions
Details of dress rehearsal/performance times are shown in the date list below.
Christmas Lunch
We would like to encourage all children to join in with this festive occasion when we play Christmas music and pull crackers provided by the Friends of the School.
The menu is:
Roast Turkey, Sausage, Stuffing & Gravy
Roasted Vegetable Lasagne
Roast & Duchesse Potatoes
Peas, Fresh Carrots (and Fresh Sprouts for those that request them)
Festive Pudding
Chocolate Crispie Snowballs
Christmas Tree Ice Cream
and the cost is £1.85 per pupil.
Tesco Sport for Schools & Clubs
Thank you for all the vouchers sent in during this campaign. Please let us have any remaining ones as soon as possible so that we can decide whether to place an order or bank the vouchers towards next year’s campaign.
