Welcome to Badger Class's web page!
Our Christian values for the Autumn term are:
This term we started by studying stories that are set in imaginary worlds- we are looking at the features and the presentation and will be producing our own text linked to the book How to Train your Dragon by Cressida Cowell. We will also be finding out about recounts; how they are structured and how we can adapt these to write our own. We will also be looking at different types of POETRY before using this knowledge to write our own.
We will be learning about NUMBER- Place value and the four operations. We will also be studying GEOMETRY- shapes, space, measures and angles. Each Friday morning we compete for our times tables challenge!
We will be using our mathematical knowledge to solve problems and make connections with other subjects. We will also be recognising the links between mathematics and our everyday lives.
This term is an International Primary Curriculum GEOGRAPHY and HISTORY based term, and our topics will include:
Footprints from the past- dinosaurs.
Inventions that changed the world.
PE will be on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
In line with the school's homework policy:
Literacy, (which is topic linked whenever possible and shared in class every Monday) The children are given the opportunity to read through eachother's work and comment as well as talking about what they have done.
KIRFs and Spellings are tested on alternative Fridays.
Details are in the home/school communication book each week.
Please check the home/school book for up to date information as well as the individual targets for mathematics and literacy.
PLEASE MAKE SURE THE BOOK IS IN SCHOOL EVERY DAY.
