Please check for this half term's exciting activities at Wraparound. As ever, we are extremely grateful to Prestige for offering such an excellent enrichment service for our school.
Unfortunately, it looks as though the wet weather is set to continue for the rest of the afternoon, so we will need to cancel Carols on the Playground.
However, we would still love to see you. Please do drop into the school hall (entry is via the bridge by Squirrel Class) after pick-up for some refreshments and to visit Olivia’s craft stall, which will be open as planned. It’s a lovely opportunity to come together and enjoy a warm, festive moment despite the rain.
Please check emails for Film Night and Christmas Jumper Day. Although we encourage all children (Nursery to Y6) to wear a Christmas Jumper, the film is for Reception to Year 6 only. Thank you.
Congratulations to Olivia, who participated in the British Shooting Schools Competition. She placed 33rd out of 53, despite being one of the youngest in her age category - competing against Year 7 and 8 children.
Congratulations to our amazing Football team, who won their match against Linton Heights (2-0) last night. We are so proud of them all.
Today, the whole school participated in our Service of Remembrance. All the children were incredibly respectful, and the two-minute silence was particularly moving. Afterwards, our children in Year 6 placed crosses at the base of the war memorial to remember the fallen of the parish. We are very proud of all our pupils, who appreciate the importance and significance of the day.
We were delighted to welcome Daniel Brinsdon (from the Cambridgeshire Music Hub) to school this morning to lead a whole school assembly. In 30 minutes, Mr Brinsdon gave pupils the chance to see, hear, and ask questions about musical instruments from every section of the Western orchestra. The children were fascinated and asked some excellent questions.
Please help us support the British Legion. This week - and until Remembrance Day - our children will be selling poppies on the playground at break times and after school.
Four of our incredible Y6 pupils have been raising money for charities by selling beautiful homemade crafts. They have now raised £200 for their chosen charities: RSPCA, East Anglia Children's Hospice, The Little Princess Trust and Cancer Research UK. We are so proud of their hard work and commitment to improving the lives of others.
Thank you for our new High-Vis tabards!
