Hedgehog Class: Nursery & Reception

Welcome to Hedgehog Class (Nursery and Reception)

We are delighted to welcome all the children to our class and it has been lovely to meet all our new families joining us for the first time and seeing those returning after the summer break.

We will be beginning our year with the topic 'This is Me!' and look forward to learning all about what makes each pupil unique.

Please check back regularly for updates and messages.

Thank you, Mrs Lawson.

Weekly Update

21/9/20:

The children really enjoyed using their photos from home to make a large display in the classroom. Thank you to all parents who sent in the photos.

We realise that family life is busy and things get forgotten - if you didn't manage to send in the photos then please still do and we will find time for your child to catch up on last weeks' activity.

From 21/9/20:

Please note that for children in nursery and reception attending full days, the start time will be 8:45am and finish will be 3pm. Please wait by the blue nursery gate at drop off and collection. Thank you.

Check List:

Have you returned to school the following?

  • All about me booklet (sent home in July.)
  • This is me! Self portrait person (White cardboard body template.)
  • Emailed 5 special things photos.
  • Returned tapestry permission forms for parental access.

This Week's Learning

Week beginning 14th September 2020:

This week and next week we are learning all about us, what makes us special and unique as well as our families. We will be using the All About Me books the children made over the summer as well as using the fabulous books in the photos below to explore ourselves and our feelings.

Update 21st September 2020:

We hope that you have enjoyed seeing our rainbow hand prints on display that we made last week.  We also enjoyed exploring mirrors and reflections as well as beginning to create self portraits in different ways and made heart strings of those we love.

In Maths this week we will be looking at matching and sorting, finding pairs, odd ones out and shadow matching objects by their shape too. We will be continuing our topic on ourselves and our families.
