Hedgehog Class: Nursery & Reception

Welcome to Hedgehog Class

Summer Term 2020

Dear Hedgehog Class,

We have absolutely loved seeing the photos you have sent in and they are really making us smile.

We are working very hard to find ways to stay in touch and to plan online learning for you all, but as you know, the EYFS is very hands on and practical using lots of space and resources so it is very challenging. We are also very aware of the all the challenges of lockdown that all families are facing in different ways and therefore the learning we upload on these pages are suggestions only.  Children learn best from hands on activities that follow their own interest and we know that all our families do the very best for their children in whatever form that may look like for you.

Please do not worry if you are unable to complete any of the uploaded activities, there is a large volume to allow for choice, learning styles and available time and resources for each family. When we all return to school, no child will be 'ahead' or 'behind' based on what they have done during lockdown and we will pick up the teaching at every individual child's level just as we do day by day throughout the year.

Phonics Hub - Phases 3, 4 and tricky words are all live and complete, phase 2 planning is also on there and resources are imminent, I would be very grateful for any feedback on how accessible it is or if any of the links or resources have any problems.

Please do get in touch via email if you have any questions or need any more support at home. We are all in constant contact and working together to do our best for you.

Please note that this will be our final week of English, Maths being scheduled for every day. You have all worked so hard at home and we are very proud of your dedication and effort.  Next week we will set some exciting and educational activities for you to choose from and I know that many of you may have topic work that you would like to finish off.

We hope that you have another good week and that you are looking forward to some different end of term activities!

Best wishes and stay safe,

Mrs Lawson, Mrs Bergin,  and all the EYFS team.
