Courgeous Advocacy
Spring Term 2025: Courageous Advocate Award
Congratulations to Kian, who has been awarded this term's Courageous Advocate Award. Kian cares deeply about the environment and wrote to King Charles to express his concerns around pollution and de-forestation. Kian received a letter from the King, which said how grateful he was for Kian's interest in the subject.
Autumn Term 2024: Cotgeous Advocate Award
Each term, we will now select a pupil who has been an outstanding advocate for change. This term, I am delighted to announce that James, in Badger Class, has been selected to receive this award. Inspired by the charity work of rugby legend, Rob Burrow, James decided that he wanted to raise awareness of Motor Neurone Disease. Not only did James give a short speech to his class on the subject, but in June, he completed the 3 Peaks Challenge, raising £1,265 for the MND Association, a charity focused on improving access to care, research, and campaigning for people affected by Motor Neurone Disease. A number of pupils from classes across the whole school nominated James for this award, which is a reflection of the far reaching impact his work has had on others.
